About Me

Hi there, my name is Megan Ashley and MeganAshley.com (KindaWitchyBlogger.com) is a blog to help you feel seen and less alone in your grief, self love + self discovery journey. 🔮  I help queer folks cope with grief, loss, and the amazing journey of finding yourself. 🎭

Here you will find sometimes entertaining and sometimes educational blog posts to help you on your own journey.

In the future I’m excited to start offering worksheets, ebooks, videos, and coaching, so stay tuned! 2023 is going to be an awesome year!

I’ve been blogging and writing since 2005 when I was 17 years old. Maybe a few years earlier, but I can’t recall, my memories are all fuzzy from that time right before my mom died. I’ve used multiple pen names because I was always ashamed of people finding me and the vulnerable topics I wrote about- mental health, mainly.

I’ve been on my grief journey since 2006 when my mom was murdered in front of my eyes. During the attack I was also stabbed, and then diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and bipolar 2. This is why I’m passionate about Mental Health and love to write #MentalHealthDiaries & #TheGriefChronicles.

I’ve been on my self love/self discovery journey since 2015 after my first divorce. (Yep, divorced x2 here!)

I was a podcast co host from 2018-2022 with the lovely Leigh Montavon, our podcast was called Queers Next Door which you can still find on apple or wherever you get your podcasts.

It all started when I was hired to work on a friends blog and podcast in 2015 shortly after my divorce, and it spiraled from there. I realized I had a passion for blogging and could take it seriously. At that time I was still a part time preschool teacher, nanny, and birth doula (which I did for 12 years, all throughout my late teens and twenties), but soon quit to become a full time freelancer & work for authors, marketing, and social media.

👩🏻‍💻⁣ Blogging has been such a fun and emotional roller coaster, I’ve truly learned so much about myself and found a community that helps me keep going. I even started writing my memoir during #NaNoWriMo in 2020, I know that one day I will be a self-published author, It might just take me quite awhile!

Fueled by coffee and wine, and the power of my crystals and tarot, of course, I love sharing pieces of my life and my messy, complicated healing adventures. I’m obsessed with planners, stickers, markers and notebooks, so you’ll see that on my social media as well.

I am currently living near Baltimore, MD with my lovely fiancee' and our dog & three cats. We got enGAYged 10/1/22 ðŸ’ž

If you’d like to work with me you can hire me to write sponsored posts or honestly review your products. Check out a review I did with Leigh Montavon from Queers Next Door over on Hot Octopuss. I can write for your publication as well. I am also a virtual assistant and social media specialist who works with creatives by day (authors, coaches, podcasters etc), so if you’re interested in those services email me at MeganAshleyWrites@gmail.com. I can’t wait to offer my coaching services, hopefully by mid 2023, email with any questions or comments! I look forward to hearing from you!
